Following on from my recent post with my gorgeous antique bustle gown, this is another of my antique dresses in my collection. My bustle gown is an 1878 Victorian dress, and this one is an Edwardian 1912 stunner. I don't have many dresses in my collection, but this and my bustle gown are the best of the best! The feel of the silk in this dress is just magic, it is so soft. You would feel like a fairy princess wearing it. Here are some pictures of my Silk and Carrickmacross Lace Wedding Gown.
This gorgeous dress is a 1912 satin and Carrickmacross lace wedding gown. It is silk satin with a long train, and bodice and skirt trimmed with handmade Carrickmacross lace. The waist is slightly high with a cross over back, silk taffeta under bodice and bust ruffles of the taffeta. It is boned and has a petersham waist band. The skirt has cascade of lace down the front skirt with a draped knot of the satin at the hem as you can see in the bottom photo.
I love this dress, it's absolutely beautiful in real life!
Wonderful dress ! A real treasure
