I've been buying Romantic Homes magazine for about four or five years now, and each time they get a new editor it changes direction, so there have been times I can't wait to open it up and other times when, well, I was buying it out of habit rather than love of it!
For about the last year the editor has been Jacqueline deMontravel and I've got to say, it's just getting better and better each month. I just love it at the moment. So, I've bought it from the newsagent, had a subscription and decided not to get another one (co-inciding with a period of don't love it) and recently, since I've been loving it so much and can't wait for it to dribble into the newagents months behind, I bought three in one hit from Ebay in the US (September, October and November 2008 issues). Mmm, I've been pawing over them every two hour trip on the train to and from work...to die for! Here are some pictures I just keep coming back to over and over...
I love this lounge. The lounge suite is the same or similar to mine, but it's done out in white or cream. I love that, but with two cats, I'd have trouble with that. Dream away, Vic...
It's amazing what a touch of vintage iron and lace does! A weakness of mine. Don't these elements go so well together.
I love the way they have the colanders on the wall, really useful and pretty. I also love the old stove. I found a new vintage style stove a long time ago in a store, and kept it in mind. I went back last week to check out the price to put in our new kitchen, having in my mind decided it was a done deal. I went home and told Dear One I found the perfect stove and since I was saving so much money on the way I am going to do our new kitchen we could spend a little more on some key features. I told him all about it and then the price and I got the eyebrow and a big, "I don't f*ing think so. Dah, as if I would spend $13,000 on a stove! It was fun telling him though!
You've got to get this magazine, it's to die for at the moment! Newsagents will order it in for you if you don't know where to get it.
As promised also, I managed to remember this week to get a photo of my sister's new bench. She's not sure of the fabric on the seat, but it is pretty. If she's not happy with it, she knows she has access to my huge stash of fabric!
