Hi Everyone and Happy New Year!
Dear One and I just got back from our travelling holiday (car ~ different place everyday) and we had a lovely time, except for the first day and night which was drive, drive, drive, can't find any accommodation, sleep in the car, boo hoo! Don't recommend that at all!!
Anyway towards the end of the second day ~ southern coastline below Sydney ~ we arrived at the place I wanted most to see on our hoiday ~ Foxglove Spires. It's in the tiny town of Tilba Tilba and is a beatuful garden with cafe, couple of antique stores and nursery. Big wow! I saw it on Better Homes and Gardens in September in spring when the gardens were in full flower and I badly wanted to visit. So since we were going to Canberra as our main destination, and Tilba Tilba isn't too far away, we made it our first stop sort of on the way. I certainly wasn't disappointed, except I didn't get enough time there ~ only an hour.
Some of my photos are below, but if you'd like to see more, I've made a new photo album called "Foxglove Spires" which you can access in my sidebar.

Such a lovely entryway.
This is the lovely old house where the owners live ~ off limits unfortunately as I would have loved to have looked inside.

A ruin ~ everyone needs one of those in their backyard ~ I asked Dear One to build me one but I he didn't answer me which means "get real woman"!

A lovely arbour covered walkway ~ this is one of the ideas I'm stealing for my future backyard makeover.

An expalier walkway.
This little outside room is another idea I'm going to steal ~ a great place to put a hutch and use as a potting shed. I was intrigued by the tree above this little shed type room. It had white leaves. Loved it! The plan says it's a white poplar, but I don't believe it ~ wrong shape of tree. I'll have to ask them about that!
A really pretty rustic area which I just loved ~ the white tree leaves were above this area as well ~ so pretty!

Some of the little antique shops onsite ~ I managed to find a couple of things!
A really pretty bed and breakfast just down the road.
Dear One needed a rest after all this! So of course we went to the cafe and had a devonshire tea. Yum!!
I really took a lot of ideas away from here, so inspiring! Check out my sidebar photo album under "Foxglove Spires" if you'd like to see more photos. I had such a lovely time there ~ we are talking about revisiting in Spring this year. We'll see if we make it back, but certainly I would love to see it in full flower!
