Hi Everyone!
Sorry for no post last week ... was feeling a bit down with all the horrible bush fire disaster and, although it hasn't changed, I didn't feel like blogging about something so superfluous as my home when so many thousands of other have lost theirs and so many their lives. Whilst looking on a news site to update myself on the news as I usually get home so late I miss the TV news, I unfortunately came across some photos of people who had perished in the fires, and it started with a young couple with two pretty, young girls. It upset me so much, it took me quite a while to come to terms with the fact that the numbers mean nothing, it's the real people that this happened to that matter. So hard to comprehend. It's going to be a week that Australia will never forget ... can only hope it will never happen again, but as wonderful as Australia is, bush fires are a fact of life down south, and floods are a fact of life up north ... and of course both happening at the same time at the moment. The weather is so strange now ... everything seems so magnified.
In any event, life continues, and this morning I was so angry to find that my little "darling" Chantelle, who is, as I write this, locked out on the veranda (so I don't kill her) meowing her head off has managed to destroy my beautiful lounge suite by scratching holes in two seat cushions. I swear, a woman can't be pleased with anything with these little destroyers around. I'm so angry. I was so pleased to find this gorgeous suite in such great condition, but she's now fixed that.
I'll try to put this out of my mind while I write this post! I was thinking that whilst I've been slowly working on my lounge, it's not quite right, and it needs more help. I have been thinking that I need a few pictures and I love the ones I have in my bedroom and my guest room, so I started looking on Ebay for something I'd love, other than roses since I have a pretty set of those as well as many Gail McCormack rose paintings, and found these lovely ones ...
They are prints from 1907 paintings of New York show girls. I love pictures like this and am so pleased to have found them. I also found these ones too ...
These ones are from 1908 and I think are really pretty too. Now I'll have to decide which ones I want to get!
I can only imagine the pain and devastation caused by the fires. Such a tragedy and my prayers are with all of those affected.
So sorry to hear about your lounge suite! I would be very upset too!
but you have found some beautiful images here!

Vickie these are really truly beautiful! Lucky you!
I know what you mean about writing at such a time....it's very hard to see these people's faces in the papers isn't it, makes it very very real.
Gosh as I type this now, the firefighting helicopter named ELVIS is just flying overhead, landing at the airport a few minutes from my home, as he does every night. Kinda spooky timing though....
PS. did my little thing arrive in the mail? i've been meaning to write to you to make sure it got there and apologise for the very quick note (or did i forget to write a note??!!!) xo
